The Goose Behind the Oven

I grew baking with my grandma and my mom, and it quickly became my favorite hobby. From the start I loved experimenting with new recipes, especially when life got stressfull. When my heart horse suddenly passed, I poured that time and love into the kitchen. At that time I was pursuing a career in neuropsychology, hoping to make an impact on peoples lives. But I realized I could make a difference now, and hopeful a more impactful one, through community connection, and raising awareness for causes that matter. Silly Goose Bakery became the bridge between two dreams; pursuing my passion of baking while spreading awareness and starting meaningful conversations.

- The cancer death rate has declined 34% since 1991, helping to prevent approximately 4.5 million cancer deaths through advances in prevention, screening, and treatment.

- Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, with an estimated 316,950 new invasive cases expected in 2025.

- Prostate cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among men, with an estimated 313,780 new cases expected in 2025.

While advances in screening, treatment, and research have improved outcomes for many people, a cancer diagnosis can still bring significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges. Awareness plays an important role in encouraging preventative care, early detection, and support for those navigating treatment and recovery.

This month, Silly Goose Bakery will be donating 25% of monthly profits to the ChemCeed Foundation in Chippewa Falls.

The ChemCeed Foundation was created by the team at ChemCeed with a mission to support cancer research, provide support services, and help individuals currently battling cancer. Their work is rooted in a simple belief: cancer affects all of us, whether through our own experiences or through the people we love. Through fundraising efforts and community events, the foundation supports organizations such as the Marshfield Cancer Center while also providing direct assistance to local individuals and families. What makes their mission especially meaningful is their commitment to keeping funds local, ensuring that support stays within the Chippewa Valley and reaches members of our own community when they need it most.
